SLEEP CYCLES: How to find your way around them?

Do you really know the specifics of a sleep cycle? 🛌

Have you ever woken up and felt even more tired than before? This feeling isn't trivial. It simply means you woke up during a sleep cycle.

Read this article of less than 5 minutes which will make you understand what happens during your night.

Sleep cycle 💤:

During the night, we go through three different sleep cycles , each lasting an average of 90 minutes. These are: light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep.

These 3 cycles repeat themselves one by one until we wake up.

But what do they mean?

Light sleep : This is the first phase of your cycle and usually begins just as you're about to go to sleep. Your heart rate and breathing slow down.

Deep sleep: Your brain begins to slow down. You no longer hear anything around you. It's during this cycle that your body recovers from your workday.

REM sleep: Your brain activity is very intense. This is when you dream the most. The end of this cycle is conducive to waking up.

But why do I always feel tired when I wake up?

It is important to understand that it is not necessarily the quantity of sleep but the quality that is most important.

You absolutely must wake up after your sleep cycle is complete. That's because you need to wake up just after REM sleep ends. If you feel tired when you wake up, it's because your brain has started a new sleep cycle. To avoid this, you need to calculate your sleep cycle.
